A small boutique travel atelier, quietly sending travelers along the Mediterranean coast since 1962. We don't sell tours — we plan afternoons.
Bussola began on a rainy Tuesday in 1962, when our grandfather Enzo rented a tiny storefront on Via Garibaldi and hung a hand-painted sign that said "Viaggi Lenti" — slow travels. He had exactly two customers the first month, and a lifetime of ideas.
Sixty-four years later, we still do things the old way. We meet you, we listen, we pull out a map, and we plan your trip by hand. No algorithms, no mass-market packages — just quiet places, small hotels, long lunches and a few secrets passed down through generations.
Quietly rotating. Hover any card to pause and read more.
Lemon groves, cliff-edge villages and long afternoons on a private terrace above the sea.
Whitewashed villages, blue domes, caldera sunsets and a quieter sister island no-one knows.
Baroque towns, sun-warmed stone, and a tiny boat that takes you to beaches only locals know.
Five pastel villages, terraced vineyards and long walks along the coastal path between them.
Art deco villas, pebble beaches, striped umbrellas and an espresso with a view of the bay.
Pine-covered coves, clear turquoise water and small coastal villages the guidebooks miss.
No online booking forms here. Every journey starts with a conversation and unfolds at its own pace.
We meet over coffee — or on screen if you're far away — and we listen. Your pace, your budget, what kind of traveler you are, what you want to come home with.
A week later you receive a hand-assembled itinerary: small hotels, a few curated restaurants, a boat we trust, three or four things we've arranged personally.
You travel. We're on the other end of the phone if anything shifts. When you come home, we buy you lunch and ask how it went — that's how we get better.
"They planned a week in Sicily that didn't feel planned at all. Every detail thoughtful — yet I felt I was simply discovering the island on my own."
"Three Bussola trips now. Each one changed us a little. They send us a real postcard on the first day — every single time."
"Quiet, kind, deeply knowledgeable. They sent us to a fisherman's widow who served us the best lunch of our lives. That is what we pay them for."
We read every message personally. Tell us where you dream of going, how long you have, and roughly how you like to travel — and we'll write back within two days with a few ideas.
